While Collen is best known as one of the driving forces behind Def Leppard’s unmistakable sound, much of the conversation centers on his side project, Manraze.

The band gives Collen another outlet to explore different sounds, influences and creative instincts outside of the Def Leppard universe, while still carrying the energy and musicianship fans have come to expect from him.

Manraze is releasing their five-CD box set, Lock, Stock & Barrel (Complete Recordings 2008-2011), which can be preordered here.

Throughout the interview, Outlaw Dave and Collen also dig into rock history and the genre’s evolution. From the early sounds that helped shape rock and roll to the different eras and influences that pushed it forward, the conversation offers fans a broader look at where the music came from and how it continues to grow.

For longtime Def Leppard fans, the interview is a chance to hear Collen reflect on music from a wider lens. For rock fans in general, it is a thoughtful conversation between two people who clearly appreciate the history, spirit and staying power of the genre.

Whether he is talking about Def Leppard, Man Raze or the artists and sounds that helped build rock and roll, Collen brings the perspective of someone who has lived it from the inside.
