Outlaw Dave, a name synonymous with rock radio in the Lone Star State, is an award-winning Texas Radio Hall of Fame broadcaster working in Texas for almost four decades in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and syndicated worldwide.

An Army veteran, Dave is closely involved with organizations that serve our veterans, orphans, animals and first responders. A constant servant of the people, his efforts helped guide the station into a NAB Crystal award for community service in 2025.

Known for his iconic gravelly delivery and wit, Outlaw Dave made a name for himself on Houston radio during wild times at the infamous Rock 101 KLOL.

“We are always excited to give our listeners a live and local experience and we are pumped to bring Dave’s years of market radio talent to Houston’s Eagle.”– Travis Moon, Director of Operations for Radio One Houston

Houston has been home for most of my life, and it’s where I built both my career and my community. After moving here from the St. Louis area as a kid, I graduated from Spring High School and later earned a degree in Radio/TV/Film from Sam Houston State University.

My journey into radio started early and turned into a career that has spanned nearly four decades. From a small station in Cleveland, Texas, to some of Houston’s best-known frequencies, I’ve been fortunate to spend my professional life doing what I love—connecting with listeners every day through music, stories, and conversation.

When I’m away from the microphone, you’ll usually find me at a concert, spending time with horses, or getting lost in a good book. I’m also fascinated by true-crime stories and believe life is a little more interesting with a few tattoos.

Community involvement has always been important to me. Over the years, I’ve volunteered with RODEOHOUSTON, participated in law enforcement citizen programs and supported organizations that serve those who protect our communities.

At home, I’m kept company by my cat, Wednesday, who runs the household and graciously allows me to live there.

Thanks for spending part of your day with me. I’m glad you’re here.

I have been “doing radio” since the mid-90’s when I fetched coffee for legendary shock jocks Stevens and Pruett on the equally legendary 101 KLOL.

I have close to zero artistic talent, but hard work trumps talent every time. I love radio. I love the people that share that love. Radio is a very special world. I am blessed to have the opportunity to see it from the inside. That’s truly crazy to me.

I love skydiving, riding motorcycles, photography, camper travel and cherish spending time with family, especially my smoke bomb wife Dee.

    That should cover it.
