On Oct. 7, Ultimate Classic Rock posted their top-35 southern rock songs of all-time. The list is definitely worth the read for any fans of the popular rock sub-genre.

The list includes songs ranging from southern rock staples like The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Black Crowes, to some songs from artists of the beaten path like Elvin Bishop, Kings of Leon and Hank Williams Jr.

Did they get it right? You be the judge! Here’s a look at UCR’s top-10 southern rock songs of all-time:

1. “Whipping Post” – The Allman Brothers Band

2. “Free Bird” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

3. “Sweet Home Alabama” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

4. “Midnight Rider” – Gregg Allman

Personally, I’m partial to the version by The Allman Brothers Band.

5. “Ramblin’ Man” – The Allman Brothers Band

6. “La Grange” – ZZ Top

I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a state that didn’t have a town called “La Grange.”

7.

8. “Can’t You See” – The Marshall Tucker Band

9. “Gimme Three Steps” – Lynyrd Skynyrd

10. “Simple Man” – Lynyrd Skynyrd
