The search for the next James Bond continues, and the list of possible replacements for Daniel Craig is reportedly down to six actors.

According to Page Six, Jack Barton may be the current frontrunner. He’s appeared in Poor Things and Netflix’s Heartstopper, and he’s probably the least recognizable name on the list.

But that might not hurt him. Bond has a long history of turning relatively unknown actors into stars. Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Timothy Dalton, and Daniel Craig weren’t exactly household names when they were handed the keys to the Aston Martin.

The other five candidates are Jacob Elordi, known for Euphoria, Saltburn, and Frankenstein; Paul Mescal, from Gladiator II and Hamnet; Callum Turner, from Fantastic Beasts; Jack Lowden, from Slow Horses and Dunkirk; and Harris Dickinson, from Babygirl, Triangle of Sadness, and The Iron Claw.

Mescal is also set to play Paul McCartney in the upcoming Beatles movie series.

And apparently, being British isn’t mandatory. Elordi is Australian and Mescal is Irish. Bond has been there before. George Lazenby is Australian, while Pierce Brosnan is Irish.

Now the waiting game continues. Six actors, one tuxedo, and probably a ridiculous amount of internet arguing before anyone actually gets the job.

Who should be the next 007?
