Is Houston The Most Fun City In America?
Everybody has a different idea of what “fun” looks like. For some people, it’s checking out a new restaurant, traveling somewhere new, hitting a bar with friends or spending the weekend outside. For others, it might be catching a movie, riding roller coasters, going to a concert or staying home with a video game.

Whatever your idea of fun is, it usually costs money. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American spends more than $3,600 a year on entertainment.
That’s one reason WalletHub decided to find out which cities give you the most ways to have fun without completely draining your bank account.
WalletHub compared more than 180 U.S. cities using 65 different factors, including the number of fitness centers, restaurants and entertainment options, movie ticket prices and even the average business hours of local breweries.
At the top of the list, probably no surprise, is Las Vegas, followed by Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and New Orleans.
But Houston is right there with them.
Houston ranked No. 6 among the most fun cities in America.
That means Houston finished ahead of nearly every other major city in the country, thanks to the huge variety of things to do around town. From restaurants and breweries to sports, concerts, museums, nightlife and outdoor activities, there’s rarely a shortage of options.
And Houstonians already know the best part: you don’t have to agree on what “fun” means.
Around here, there’s probably something for everybody.
