The Mega-rich are building luxe doomsday bunkers in the Swiss Alps for their cars and gold. A network of underground vaults are being carved into the Swiss Alps!

Basically, the super-rich are getting luxury storage bunkers built inside the Swiss Alps less to “hide from zombies” and more “protect my Ferrari and Picassos.”

A company called Brünig Mega Safe is building about 20 private underground vaults beneath more than 300 feet of solid rock. Wealthy buyers can store gold, art, rare wine, expensive cars and other valuables there. Each space comes on a 99-year lease starting around $1 million, with extremely tight security and secretive access procedures.

They’re being called “doomsday bunkers,” but they’re primarily ultra-secure private vaults, not necessarily places where owners would live through an apocalypse.

And it’s part of a bigger trend: billionaires have increasingly invested in fortified properties and private shelters designed to keep them — and their assets — safe during disasters, wars or major societal disruptions.

So apparently when the world ends, the Ferraris will be just fine.
