Dead in cell:
Source: A man who was accused of killing his mother and aunt in a double homicide in New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania at the end of June was found dead in his jail Friday morning.

A man in China facing punishment for his third drunk-driving offense allegedly decided the best way to avoid jail was to fake his own death. Police say Zhu enlisted his mother and grandmother, bought a coffin and even staged a funeral claiming he’d died of a drug overdose.

Zhu then fled hundreds of miles away to start a new life, but police noticed there was no death certificate, ambulance record or cremation record. They tracked him through surveillance footage, his phone and financial activity and eventually found him alive.

Instead of escaping jail, Zhu reportedly got five months behind bars and a roughly $3,000 fine and his mother and grandmother were investigated for helping with the scheme.
He gets an A for effort!
