Bob Seger - 'Face The Promise' Expanded Reissue

Nearly two decades after Bob Seger made one of the most unexpected comebacks in rock history, his 2006 album Face the Promise is receiving a special expanded reissue. The anniversary release celebrates an album that marked Seger’s return to the spotlight after an extended break from recording and reminded fans why his voice and songwriting remained among the most respected in American rock. The expanded edition is scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, giving longtime fans a chance to revisit one of Seger’s most personal albums with new bonus material, remastered audio, and the album’s first-ever vinyl release.

Originally released on September 12, 2006, Face the Promise was Bob Seger’s first new studio album in more than a decade. His previous studio release, It’s a Mystery, arrived in 1995, and during that time Seger largely stepped away from the music business to focus on family life. When he returned, fans were eager to hear the unmistakable voice behind classics like “Night Moves,” “Against the Wind,” and “Turn the Page.”

The album’s title track, “Face the Promise,” set the tone for Seger’s return, reflecting themes of perseverance, aging, memories, and moving forward. The album has also been newly remastered by longtime Seger mastering engineer Robert Vosgien.

When Face the Promise was originally released, it became a major commercial success, reaching platinum status and proving that Seger’s connection with audiences had never faded. The album debuted strongly on the charts and showed that his brand of heartfelt, working-class rock still had a place in modern music.
