Can A Man’s BO Change A Woman’s Mood

Believe it or not, researchers say maybe. Studies suggest chemical compounds found in men’s underarm sweat may subtly influence hormones linked to the menstrual cycle and even help some women feel a little calmer.
One compound, called androstadienone, has also been linked to changes in cortisol, the hormone associated with stress.
Now before you start asking your partner to skip deodorant, scientists say the evidence is still limited. There isn’t proof that smelling a sweaty armpit can regulate hormones or change your menstrual cycle, and researchers still debate whether humans even have true pheromones.
The takeaway? Your nose might be picking up a lot more than just body odor. Human scent could play a bigger role in attraction, mood, and communication than we ever realized—but the science is still sweating out the details.
Why is it still controversial?
The reported effects are generally small, and not every study finds the same results. That’s why scientists agree the findings are interesting but don’t yet prove that androstadienone is a true human pheromone or that it has predictable effects in everyday life.
I still prefer some good old fashion cologne!
