A viral post claiming that tattoos will be banned in Texas by 2028 has been making the rounds online, but it doesn’t hold up to even a quick fact check. The rumor suggests a new law and even includes a fake press release supposedly from Gov. Greg Abbott, but none of it is real.

There is no Texas law, bill, or legislative proposal that bans tattoos now or in the future. In fact, state records show that the bill number being shared in the viral post has nothing to do with tattoos at all it’s been completely misused or fabricated. The claim also references a 2024 legislative session, but the details being cited don’t match any actual policy timeline or official documentation.

In short, it’s a classic internet rumor: it looks official, sounds dramatic, and uses real-sounding government details but collapses under verification.

If anything, this is a reminder that the internet can sometimes behave like a rumor machine with a flair for drama, turning fake “laws” into viral headlines faster than they can be checked. No tattoo ban is coming; your ink is safe, and Texas isn’t outlawing body art in 2028 or beyond.
