The Hacky Sack is Back!

Kicking a small footbag around in a circle is suddenly trending again among teens, according to Business Insider. The game, known as Hacky Sack, was created in 1972 by John Stalberger and Mike Marshall while Stalberger was recovering from a knee injury. It later gained popularity after being acquired by Frisbee maker Wham-O in 1983.
Hacky Sack took off in the 1980s and 1990s, especially in schoolyards and college campuses, as a simple, low-cost social game. Now it’s making a comeback, with reports that some stores have even sold out of footbags due to renewed interest among high schoolers.
The trend has also been welcomed by some parents, who say they’re glad to see kids engaging in outdoor, social activity instead of spending all their time on phones and screens.
