The 5 best from Bryan Adams.

First, Reckless. This is the crown jewel, the big kahuna. Six hit singles. Six! That’s not an album, that’s a greatest hits package wearing a disguise. “Summer of ’69,” “Heaven” these songs are so catchy they could make a statue tap its foot. This is Adams at his absolute peak, and if you don’t like it, check your pulse.

Then there’s Waking Up the Neighbours. Subtle title, right? Like a marching band in your kitchen. This gave us “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You,” the song that refused to leave planet Earth for about a year. Over-the-top? Sure. Effective? Like a charm offensive from a guy who knows exactly what he’s doing.

Now we got Cuts Like a Knife. This is where he starts figuring it out. The title track bites, “Straight from the Heart” melts a few ice cubes. It’s the sound of a guy going from “pretty good” to “watch out, here I come.”

Bryan Adams

Let’s not ignore Into the Fire. This one’s moodier, a little more serious, like Adams read a book and decided to reflect on life. It didn’t crank out as many hits, but it shows he’s got depth. Yeah, I said it, depth. Don’t get used to hearing that from me.

Finally, 18 til I Die. The title alone tells you everything. This is Adams saying, “I’m sticking with what works.” Big hooks, loud guitars, zero apologies. It’s not reinventing music, but it doesn’t have to. It’s like comfort food, tastes good every time.
