There’s A Topo Chico Shortage!
There are certain things we expect to be available at all times. Gas. Decent coffee. And a cold bottle of Topo Chico Mineral Water (especially during a typical Texas summer).
So this one stings a little.
Topo Chico Mineral Water is temporarily unavailable in the United States, and yes, people noticed immediately. According to The Coca-Cola Company, the shortage is due to facility upgrades at the water source and production facilities in Mexico. The company says safety and quality are top priorities and expects the mineral water to return by this summer.
Translation: the bubbles are in the shop getting tuned up.
Important detail before anyone spirals: this only affects the classic mineral water. Other Topo Chico drinks are still available in the U.S. So no, civilization hasn’t collapsed. Just mildly inconvenienced.
Still, walking into a store and seeing that empty space where the glass bottles usually stand feels wrong. Like when your favorite product quietly disappears, and nobody sends a memo. You start wondering what else is fragile. Lower back? Knees? Your tolerance for nonsense?
Topo Chico has become one of those small daily upgrades. Not flashy. Not trendy. Just reliable. Crack the cap, get that sharp hiss, and move on with your day.
For now, fans will have to pivot. Maybe try something else. We’ll complain about it briefly and then move on.
If all goes according to plan, Topo Chico Mineral Water should be back by July. And when it is, expect a quiet, satisfied nod. Not a celebration. Just order restored.
