Ryanair: “Stop Travelling In Jeans”
Ryanair has done it again, sparking chaos at 30,000 feet, this time over something as ordinary as denim.
In a TikTok video that instantly divided travelers, the budget airline posted a simple request: “It’s 2026, let’s stop travelling in jeans. Please.” The caption even included pleading hands, as if begging passengers to abandon their skinny jeans before boarding.
Naturally, the internet reacted like someone had just announced a ban on carry-on luggage and oxygen. Confused commenters demanded answers, asking what could possibly be wrong with jeans. Ryanair’s social media team fired back with maximum sass: “What’s right with them?”
For an airline already known for its blunt, joking online persona, the message felt perfectly on brand. Still, passengers weren’t sure whether to laugh or start packing sweatpants in protest.
Some responded with humor. One joked they’d show up in an “18th century historically accurate outfit.” Another teased Ryanair’s infamous extra fees: “Are you gonna charge for wearing jeans now?” And, of course, someone went there, quipping, “Whenever I take them off the flight attendants get mad at me.”
But beneath the jokes, some travelers agreed. Jeans, especially on long flights, can feel stiff, restrictive, and uncomfortable compared to softer travel wear. A few commenters called them “the least comfortable thing to wear while flying.”
So now the question hangs in the recycled cabin air: are jeans perfectly fine for travel… or should they stay grounded?
One airline post, one pair of pants, and suddenly everyone has strong feelings.
