The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo may be rooted in country tradition, but over the years, it’s also turned into one of Texas’ biggest stages for rock music. From guitar-shredding legends to arena-filling hitmakers, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has welcomed plenty of rock acts ready to turn NRG Stadium into something closer to a stadium tour stop.
For these artists, RodeoHouston wasn’t about fitting a mold — it was about bringing big riffs, bigger choruses and high-energy performances to one of the most diverse crowds in the state. Whether it was classic rock staples, hard rock favorites or crossover icons, these shows proved that rock and rodeo culture can coexist just fine.
From one-night appearances to repeat visits, these are the rockers who helped expand RodeoHouston’s musical footprint and showed fans that the dirt floor doesn’t limit the volume. Here’s a look at the rock artists who’ve taken the RodeoHouston stage.
