Matthew McConaughey’s Marriage Advice

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves have been married for over a decade, but like any other couple, their relationship takes “maintenance.”

Speaking with host Jay Shetty in the latest episode of his podcast “On Purpose,” McConaughey explained why it’s “humanly impractical” for a couple to be in the honeymoon phase forever.

“Honeymoon’s only in the perfection stage. It’s only up in the air,” he said.

McConaughey also explained why constantly “seeking perfection” in a relationship is “unfair.” He then compared marriage to the “dim” lighting of a “30-watt bulb.” “Not as bright, but it’ll last longer and it’s more realistic for you and her,” he said. “It’s more human and it’s still lovely.”
