The Chevron Houston Marathon is an annual road race held every January in downtown Houston, Texas, featuring:

A full marathon (26.2 miles)
A half marathon (the Aramco Houston Half Marathon)
A 5K (We Are Houston 5K)

Chevron is the title sponsor (hence the name), with a long-standing sponsorship that was recently extended this year marks 20+ years of Chevron’s involvement and a renewed partnership commitment with the event.

2026 Event Details

Race Weekend: January 9–11, 2026

Marathon & Half Marathon Race Day: Sunday, January 11

Location: Starts and finishes in Downtown Houston, with routes passing through neighborhoods including Montrose, Upper Kirby, West University, and the Galleria area.

These streets will be closed on race day starting at 6 a.m.:
Congress from Crawford to Smith
Smith from Congress to Franklin
Franklin from Smith to Washington (all lanes except one westbound curb lane)

All race distances (full, half, and 5K) have sold out for 2026.

🏁 Race Weekend Highlights

Marathon and Half Marathon Start Times: Early in the morning (roughly 6:35–6:55 a.m. depending on division).

Course Info: The marathon has a maximum time limit of 6 hours, and the half has about a 4-hour limit; courses are certified and organized under USA Track & Field standards.

Viewing & Closures: Major downtown streets will be closed during the weekend, especially early morning Sunday!
