Chat GPT Wants To Be Your Personal Shopper

OpenAI just dropped a holiday upgrade that basically acts like a personal shopping elf. Type something like, “I need a gift under $75 for my friend who loves candles but despises anything floral,” and it instantly spits out links and photos. The tool pulls from product pages, reviews, specs, availability, and prices across major retailers, and you can keep refining your search with follow-up questions.

OpenAI insists it isn’t sharing your chats with retailers, but the model can still fumble basics like price or whether something’s actually in stock, which is kind of its whole job.

Target, Walmart, and Etsy are already on board. The whole thing scratches that Jetsons-era fantasy of a robot assistant who handles your errands. Now, if it could just wrap the gifts too, December would basically take care of itself.
