This Is The Coolest Thing – An Avocado Ripeness Checker!
There is nothing more aggravating than buying avocados that aren’t ripe or have already turned brown. If there was only a machine that could tell us when an avocado is ready to be eaten!
Somebody tell H-E-B that Finland just beat us to it! A video making the rounds online shows a woman demonstrating “avocado ripeness checkers” in grocery stores overseas. She drops an avocado into a small scanner, and within seconds, the screen flashes messages like “Not Yet” or “Perfectly Ripe.”
No more thumb-squeezing, no more cutting into a green rock or scooping out brown mush. This little Finnish gadget uses sensors to measure firmness and give an instant readout of ripeness, basically, a lie detector test for avocados.
Shoppers in the video are cracking up as she tests a few, and every Texan watching can feel the envy. Imagine this in our produce aisles, guacamole parties saved, breakfast toasts perfected, no more “I swear it was soft yesterday” excuses.
The smart-grocery tech is designed to cut down on food waste and help customers find the perfect fruit before it turns. But honestly, it’s also pure customer happiness.
So come on, H-E-B, if Finland can do it, so can Texas! Stick a few of these near the avocados, and watch the shoppers line up!
Because down here, we don’t mess around with bad guac.
