When TikTok user Gaby (@gabymixco) bent over to pick up a dropped fork at dinner, her new Gap faux-leather pants responded with a crisp “FWORP”! A sound uncannily like a fart. “I didn’t know Gap and Aflac did a collab?!” she joked in her video.

“I haven’t been this embarrassed since fourth grade when I was playing musical chairs and my chair broke and it fell on my bottom,” Gaby told her followers. She emphasized: “That did not come from my, no, the pants—they’re it,” when viewers questioned whether she’d passed gas.

The pants apparently squeak or “fart” every time she squats or shifts, a repeat loop of mortifying sound effects. Gaby’s complaint? “They’re expensive, Gap, you got some explaining to do.”

Gap has not publicly responded (at least not in the sources found). Meanwhile, internet fashion experts point out the physics: faux-leather (or coated fabric) rubbing over itself can trap air and release it, producing noise.

The result: Gaby now warns her fans to test pants with a “bend or squat test” in the fitting room, before debuting them in public. “I’m traumatized,” she adds via her TikTok post.

So yes, it’s embarrassing, awkward, and frankly hilarious, but here’s the simple fix: Don’t buy them!
