The Reason we need to wash our Bananas

The insects are drawn especially to bananas, as they often find banana peels to be a perfect spot to lay their eggs. And as a bunch of bananas ripen on your countertop, you’re likely providing the perfect conditions for the fruit flies to hatch and start bugging your kitchen (and enjoying the rest of your fruit, too).
Rinse the banana peels under cool, running water for at least 30 seconds, taking extra care around the stems, where there are more places where dirt or insect eggs can be protected from the spray. Then, wipe down the peels with a clean towel.
Who knew!!
