A New Guns N’ Roses Album?…Maybe!
If you survived the 15-year wait for Chinese Democracy, good news, the next Guns N’ Roses album probably won’t take quite that long. Maybe.
In a new interview, Slash admitted the band has “a ton of material,” but the real challenge is, quote, “having the discipline to sit down and [effing] get into it.” He says that’s how GNR rolls, nothing ever goes exactly according to plan. “The thing with Guns is, in my experience, you can never plan ahead,” he explained. “You can never sit down and go, ‘We’re going to take this time and do this.’ Every time we’ve done that, it falls apart.”
So, don’t expect a calendar date or teaser campaign anytime soon. Slash insists that when the time is right, “it’ll just happen.” Which, honestly, feels very Guns N’ Roses. This is the same band that once took longer to finish an album than it took the iPhone to be invented.
Still, we have reason to hope. In recent years, Slash, Duff, and Axl have been touring together, even releasing a few new tracks like “Hard Skool” and “Absurd.” If the creative spark keeps burning, we might not be waiting another millennium for the next GNR masterpiece, just long enough for Slash’s next guitar solo to end.
