A restaurant in Barcelona is setting social media ablaze, not for its Michelin stars or celebrity clientele, but for a hamburger that costs more than most people’s monthly rent.

Asador Aupa, known for its authentic Basque cuisine and “inclined grill,” claims to have created “the world’s most expensive burger.” Priced at a staggering $10,963 USD, the burger, officially called SUA, is the brainchild of chef and food influencer Bosco, who set out to create a truly elite dining experience without resorting to gimmicks like gold leaf or caviar.

According to Aupa’s website, the burger combines “the three best meats in the world,” “Europe’s most exclusive cheese,” and a secret sauce infused with a luxury spirit. The exact recipe remains tightly guarded, described only as containing “an unconventional, highly valuable ingredient known to a select few.”

But here’s the twist: even if you have ten grand to spare, you can’t just order one. The SUA burger is available by invitation only, and even to apply for a spot, you must “demonstrate that you’ve done something good for society.”

Aupa says demand is already high, with the first burgers not expected to roll off the grill until February 2026.

Whether this is the pinnacle of culinary craftsmanship or the world’s most expensive publicity stunt, one thing’s certain: this burger has everyone asking: What does eleven thousand dollars taste like?
