A Chinese technology company is racing to unveil what may become the world’s first “gestation robot.”

The concept, developed by Guangzhou-based Kaiwa Technology, centers on a humanoid machine equipped with an artificial womb built into its abdomen. According to Chinese media reports, the device is designed to nurture a fetus through the full ten-month gestation period and ultimately deliver a baby.

Planned for release as early as 2026, the robot is expected to retail for under 100,000 yuan (approximately $13,900). Its creators present it as a potential alternative to traditional pregnancy for individuals seeking to avoid the physical demands of human gestation.

On one hand I think this is super cool but on the other, it could open the door to all kinds of unimaginable possibilities!
