Harvard happiness expert Arthur Brooks says the secret to a meaningful, successful life is treating it like a startup.

In his new book The Happiness Files, Brooks argues that real fulfillment comes from taking smart, calculated risks, the kind that feel both possible and a little terrifying. Just like launching a business, risk can lead to failure, but it’s also the gateway to growth, control, and deeper happiness.

His advice: plan your risks, embrace the fear, and savor becoming the person who chooses to do hard things because they’re hard.

Life is all about taking chances!
