This 7,000 Person Sing-A-Long Tribute To Ozzy Is Amazing!
This video is making the rounds on social media, and it is worth watching! You’ll probably start singing along with it. I know I did!
Toronto found its loudest way to say goodbye: 7,000 voices roaring “Paranoid” in unison at Budweiser Stage, led by hometown sing-along phenom Choir! Choir! Choir! The mass tribute, organized by founders Daveed Goldman and Nobu Adilman, turned the amphitheater into a single, thunderous chorus.
Video from the night shows a sea of raised phones and fists as Goldman counts the crowd in and Adilman shapes the harmonies. The clip’s caption captured the spirit of the evening: “Toronto shows love for Ozzy! A legend gone but never forgotten,” organizers wrote, underscoring why “Paranoid”, the breakout 1970 single that put Black Sabbath on the map, was the only logical choice.
Onstage, the leaders offered a simple dedication that became the event’s refrain: “Ozzy, wherever you are, we hope you hear 7,000 of us singing ‘Paranoid’ to you and for you.’’ The message originated in the choir’s social posts and echoed around the venue as the final chorus hit. Choir! Choir! Choir! has built a global following for exactly this kind of cathartic, communal release, teaching three-part arrangements to massive crowds and turning strangers into a choir for one night only. Goldman and Adilman founded the project in 2011 with a simple idea: singing together makes people feel less alone. On this night, that mission sounded like heavy metal thunder.
As the last “I’m paranoid!” rang out, the ovation felt equal parts wake and celebration, a city saluting the Prince of Darkness with what he gave it most: volume, attitude, and an unforgettable chorus.
