A Piece of Rock History to be Auctioned Off!

A silver jewelry piece created to honor Black Sabbath’s farewell concert in Birmingham this past July, just weeks before frontman Ozzy Osbourne’s death at 76, is heading to auction.
The ring was designed by Jagga, a street artist known for music-inspired works, and features the Aston Villa crest alongside the year 1968, when the heavy metal pioneers first formed. Five were produced in total: One each for Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward.

The fifth ring will go under the hammer at Hansons Auctioneers during the Derby Music, Vinyl & Film Memorabilia Auction on September 17, with an estimated value of £1,200–£1,500. Its significance is heightened by the fact that jewelry was central to Osbourne’s “Prince of Darkness” image, his trademark gothic look was often completed with silver rings and chains adorned with skulls and crosses.
All things considered, it’s a pretty good deal for a piece of Rock History!
