Green Day Shares Movie Premiere Date

Green Day’s new film, New Year’s Rev, directed by Lee Kirk, is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12.

The coming-of-age comedy follows a garage band that thinks it’s landed the gig of a lifetime, opening for Green Day, only to discover the setup is actually an elaborate prank.

The movie blends Green Day’s music with plenty of laughs, featuring a cast that includes Mckenna Grace, Fred Armisen, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, and Bobby Lee.

Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has called it a holiday story filled with both heart and humor, inspired by the band’s own early misadventures. I hope Green Day makes an appearance!
