I just read that dogs actually dream about playing with their owners! Here’s what we know:

Dogs experience REM sleep, just like humans. That’s the sleep phase where most dreaming happens.

Harvard psychologist Dr. Deirdre Barrett suggested that, because dogs are closely bonded with humans and often dream like us, they probably dream about their human companions potentially about playing, cuddling, or interacting.

Studies on rats have shown that they dream about their waking activities (like running through mazes), and since dogs have more complex brains, it’s very plausible they do the same.

So, when you see your dog twitching, pawing, or softly barking in their sleep, they might be chasing a ball or just reliving a joyful moment with you. How cute is that!
