A bear that had been wandering around northern Wisconsin with a jar stuck on its head has been rescued.

Morey, the medical coordinator for the Chequamegon Humane Association in Ashland, Wisconsin, is accustomed to dealing with missing pets, but this time, her efforts were focused on a bear in serious trouble.

She had been tracking the bear’s movements for several days, as it was spotted regularly in the area. On Sunday, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported that the bear was located near Cable, in the yard of one of Morey’s neighbors.

“At the start of the week, I honestly thought, ‘There’s no way this is going to end well,’” Morey shared. “I never imagined it would turn into a hero story, but here we are— the bear’s alive, and it no longer has a bucket on its head.”

DNR staff tranquilized the two-year-old female bear, safely removed the jar, and then relocated her to a more suitable environment in the woods, where she was released back into the wild.

The real question is, where was Tigger in all this??
