The Songs Of A Cheater!
If your partner starts accusing you of cheating out of nowhere, don’t panic. Start checking their playlist.
It may start innocently, like humming “Little Lies” by Fleetwood Mac while aggressively reorganizing the sock drawer. Then they start blasting “Dirty Work” by Steely Dan and asking oddly specific questions like, “Who’s Rachel, and why did she like your dog photo?”
Prepare yourself. It’s far from over. Especially when they suddenly become the victim, dramatically quoting Elton John’s “Part-Time Love” while staring out the window like they’re in an old school black & white 80s video from our MTV youth. You ask, “What’s wrong?” and get the classic, “Nothing”.
Next thing you know, they’re playing “Run to You” by Bryan Adams, but at a volume that can only mean, “you’re done”! That song isn’t about jogging, by the way!
If you start hearing “Tempted” by Squeeze, “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’” by Journey, or the nuclear option: REO Speedwagon’s “Take It on the Run.” You might as well confess, even if you aren’t guilty. Confess to something. ANYTHING!
Because, in the life of a classic rocker, everything has a soundtrack, even cheating. You’re just one power ballad away from someone winding up in tears.
Check out the complete list of cheating/cheater songs that Ultimate Classic Rock compiled, and hopefully you don’t hear them in a “special” playlist – ever!
