Rodeo Houston Commits $500,000 to Aid Recovery Efforts in Hill Country

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo joins several other Houston-area businesses and organizations in aiding relief and recovery efforts after the July 4 flood in Texas Hill Country. Rodeo Houston will be committing $500,000 to help aid the impacted communities in rebuilding, according to a statement from their Instagram account on Monday.
“In response to the devastating flooding in Central Texas, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is committing $500,000 to aid in recovery efforts and help rebuild the communities ad places that shape our state’s future,” Rodeo Houston said in its statement. “We remain steadfast in our dedication to supporting our neighbors, recognizing that the strength of our communities today builds the foundation for the generations of tomorrow.”

At least 120 people have been killed as a result of flooding in the Texas Hill Country, with at least 160 people still missing. Most of the deaths occurred in Kerr County, the hardest-hit area. 150 of the missing are from Kerr County.
More than $30 million has been donated to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which will start being distributed Friday, according to CNN.
