Triumph Reunites at Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton

Legendary rock band Triumph reunited for the first time in over a decade — not at a festival; not on a reunion tour, but at the most sacred of Canadian gatherings; a Stanley Cup Finals game.
Rogers Place in Edmonton, AL on Friday was already electric for Game 2 of the Edmonton Oilers–Florida Panthers series, but Triumph almost melted the ice! Canadian pride was on full display. You could imagine the arena looking like a large maple leaf and with a stack of vintage amps arranged in the shape of a hockey net.

Suddenly, a voice echoed:
“Ladies and gentlemen… prepare to fight the good fight… again.”
Triumph—yes, actual Triumph—gave Canadians and rock fans alike a three-song set fueled by nostalgia, righteous guitar solos and probably Tim Hortons’ espresso shots.
They tore into Lay It On the Line, hoping to inspire the Oilers to do the very same. Every uncle in attendance screamed lyrics like they were 21 again.

We can’t wait to witness greatness like Triumph again, even if it is for just one night. It’s a night we’ll never forget.
In just three songs, Triumph reminded us all of a universal truth: Canadians know how to rock. They apologize for it being too loud and then turn up the volume!
Lay It On the Line has been used during broadcasts throughout the NHL Playoffs this season.
