You may want to pack an umbrella if you’ll be outside on Easter Sunday, as a cool front is expected to bring some rain and lower temperatures to Southeast Texas this weekend. The system has the potential to bring some severe weather with it, through a large portion of this coming week.

The low pressure system moving across the southern plains is not expected top bring rain to the Houston area until Sunday, with the potential for thunderstorms. There is a slight possibility of rain on Saturday, but most of the wet weather is expected to stay north and west. Currently, forecast models aren’t able to predict when during the day theft weather will hit, but the best chance for storms will likely be Sunday night into Monday morning, as temperatures dip into the high 60s.

With the cool front coming in as the weekend ends, some relief from the mid-80s weather Houston has been experiencing as of late is expected. As of Friday afternoon, the high for Monday is 80ºF, with a low of 68ºF. This is about a five degree drop in temperature from this weekend’s forecasted high and low average. Unfortunately, spending time outside with the cooler temperatures may not be an option, as rain or thunderstorms is expected Sunday through next Friday.

Wednesday could see daily highs dip into the 70s, and daily lows in the low 60s by next Friday, as storms are possible leading into next weekend, where the weather is expected to rebound back into the sunny high 80s.
