Greg Kihn, founder of the Greg Kihn Band, died Tuesday at the age of 75 after a battle with Alzheimer’s, his publicist announced Thursday.

Kihn was a singer-songwriter best-remember for his band’s 1980s hits; Jeopardy and The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em). Jeopardy made it top No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em), his first hit, reached No. 15.

In the 1990s Kihn began writing horror fiction novels, while also working as a morning radio disc jockey for KUFX, a classic rock station in the Bay Area, from 1996 to 2012.
