The shooting occurred at Oak Park High School, WDIV-TV reported. Police responded to the high school at about 9:10 p.m. EST after receiving several 911 calls about a shooting following a basketball game, WJBK-TV reported.

According to a statement from Oak Park Schools on Saturday, three students from Southfield A&T High School were arrested and one student from Redford Thurston High School was detained.

The injured student was taken to an area hospital and was in stable condition, WJBK reported.

An investigation revealed that there was a physical altercation between the victim and a group outside of the high school after the game, according to The Detroit News. One suspect allegedly took out a handgun and fired multiple shots, police said.

The victim is not an Oak Park resident but does attend the Oak Park Schools NOVA Academy, the newspaper reported.

A gun was recovered at the scene of the shooting, according to The Detroit News.

Classes were canceled for students at Oak Park High School and NOVA Academy students on Monday, WDIV reported. Classes will resume on Tuesday.
