FORT MYERS, Fla. – A Florida K-9 foiled an alleged attempt by two men to steal catalytic converters, authorities said.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, Gunny was able to locate one man who was hiding between vehicles. A second male was located nearby and surrendered to officers, police said.

Geanny Montada Acosta, 41, of Naples, and Placeres Juan Garlobos, 45, of Houston, were arrested, according to Lee County Sheriff’s Office online booking records. The men were apprehended after police received a call at around 10:30 p.m. EST on Monday about a burglary at Alligator Towing & Recovery in Fort Myers, WINK-TV reported.

Acosta and Garlobos both allegedly admitted to being on the property to steal catalytic converters, the television station reported.

Both men were arrested and charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting officers, WBBH-TV reported.
