Listen Live

We’ve talked about it so many times, but the way we live life now has changed drastically due to the pandemic. Think about everything that you used to hear when you would go to the movies, to work out at the gym, or to a great live concert. Since most of these places are closed or limited, we miss hearing those sounds. A new survey of 2,000 people over the age of 40 has found these are the top sounds we miss.

38% – Live music

35%. – Surround sound at movie theaters

28%. – Hearing a huge crowd cheering in person

24%. – The sound of kids or grandkids playing nearby

Other sounds we miss that made list are “sermons in church”, “slot machines”, and hearing someone say “I love you” in person. Even the sound of “having sex” made the list.

Other findings from the survey on Yahoo.com from OnePoll on behalf of Eargo showed that 62% of respondents found that social distancing has caused “the art of the conversation” to decline. 75% say that masks make it harder to understand what people are saying. Due to these reasons and more, 7 out of 10 people are feeling “out of touch”. One positive finding is in the field of healthcare. 69% have tried telehealth visits and will continue using it in the future.

Sounds we miss

Hopefully, we will get to experience these sounds together safely in the very near future!
