Stewart made the announcement Tuesday on “The Howard Stern Show,” USA Today reported.
“We’re marrying. We’re totally gonna do it,” Stewart told Stern, People magazine reported. “I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted and she nailed it. We’re marrying. It’s happening.”
Stewart and Meyer were linked in 2019 and were Instagram official in October 2019, but they had met earlier on a film set six years earlier, Stewart told Stern during an interview in 2019. They reconnected at a friend’s birthday party.
Meyer is a screenwriter and has worked on “Moxie,” “Rock Bottom” “Miss 2059″ and “XOXO.” She also appeared in front of the camera with Stewart in the television series “Homemade.”
As for the wedding itself, all Stewart said is she wants to keep it “chill,” USA Today reported.
“I want to stay home. I want to be in L.A. so everyone can come and … I want it to be pretty chill. I don’t want anyone walking anyone down any aisles like we’re just gonna stand, do vows,” Stewart said.
Stewart has worn a wedding gown or two on the big screen.
Recently she described wearing a copy of Princess Diana’s iconic gown as “spooky,” Entertainment Tonight reported. Stewart portrays the princess in the upcoming film “Spencer.” The film does not show the whole 1981 wedding, but the dress is featured in a flashback sequence.
In the film “Twilight: Breaking Dawn,” Stewart walked down the aisle in a gown custom-made for her and the film by designer Carolina Herrera, E! Online reported at the time.
