New York apartment fire: 11 hurt, including 3 seriously, in Bronx blaze
NEW YORK – At least 11 people are recovering from injuries following an early morning fire at a New York apartment building, authorities said.
According to WCBS and WABC, the three-alarm blaze began about 5 a.m. Wednesday on Park Avenue West in the Bronx’s Concourse neighborhood. Officials said the fire, which broke out on the second or third floor of a six-story building, was under control about 90 minutes later, the outlets reported.
New York firefighters said 11 people were hurt, including three people who were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, WABC reported. A firefighter also suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, according to WABC.
