Toddler killed, woman seriously hurt in Georgia stabbing, police say
CANTON, Ga. – A toddler was killed and a woman seriously hurt in a stabbing in Georgia, authorities said.
According to WSB-TV, the incident occurred about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Canton’s Mountain View subdivision. Canton police arrived to find a 13-month-old girl and a 20-year-old woman who had suffered stab wounds, the news outlet reported.
The toddler was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died, authorities said. The woman also was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to WSB-TV.
Police, who continue to investigate, have not arrested anyone in connection with the case and said the community does not appear to be at risk, the news outlet reported. Authorities have not publicly released the victims’ names.
