Health care jobs may be in high demand, but the techies are set to rule 2022, according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest annual job rankings, released Tuesday.
Bolstered by a strong 10-year outlook, information security analyst topped the publication’s “100 Best Jobs of 2022″ list, while software developer and data scientist snagged the fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
Meanwhile, four of the top 10 in-demand jobs are health care related.
The annual list is based on seven components of a role, such as median salary, stress level and future job prospects, among others, USA Today reported.
Antonio Barbera, consumer advice senior editor at U.S. News, stated in a news release that the coveted information security analyst role is “increasingly critical as organizations work to protect against data breaches and cyber attacks.”
“The 10-year outlook for the occupation is strong: It is predicted to be in high demand, with an expected expansion of the profession and an increase in its volume of jobs. Low unemployment and a high median salary make this career sector appealing as well,” Barbera added.
Based on U.S. News’ methodology, the top 10 “Best Jobs of 2022″ are as follows:
- Information Security Analyst
- Nurse Practitioner
- Physician Assistant
- Medical and Health Services Manager
- Software Developer
- Data Scientist
