MANCHESTER, Tenn. – Organizers of the annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival announced Thursday that the event will not go on as planned this year due to the ongoing threat of the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers said the event will instead be held next year from June 17-20.

“Our annual time together on the Farm is nothing short of magical, but out of an abundance of caution and for the health and safety of all Bonnaroovians, artists, staff, partners and our community, this is a necessary reality,” organizers said in a statement posted online Thursday.

Previously, the festival had been postponed from June to September.

People who have already bought tickets to the festivities for 2020 can request refunds up until 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 31.

Ticket holders who decline to ask for refunds will automatically have their tickets rolled over for the 2021 event. Organizers said those who chose the latter option will also get free access to a virtual festival from Sept. 24-27.
