EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A woman in Evansville was arrested last week after allegedly punching a 3-year-old boy.

On Friday, police responded to a domestic abuse call and arrived at a home with a young boy with blood all over his face.

According to WFIE, police were called when Laticia Sharp, 43, reportedly hit the 3-year-old for no reason. Sharp told police that the child had called her a derogatory name.

A man in a mobilized wheelchair, who had made the call to the police, said that Sharp also assaulted him.

Sharp fled the home but was later found in the backyard. The station reported that she was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.

She is facing battery charges on a person less than 14 years old and simple assault, according to WFIE.
