Video captures woman escaping kidnappers in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS – Terrifying video shows a woman escaping from would-be kidnappers in Marigny, a neighborhood in New Orleans.
The video was shared by The Times-Picayune │The New Orleans Advocate, who got it from a reader who recorded it on their home surveillance system.
The video shows a woman walking down the street when she is suddenly grabbed by a masked man who tries to force her in the car. A second masked man comes out to try to help push her inside, but she is able to escape, and the car drives away.
New Orleans police told WWL-TV that they are looking for the car, which they believe is either a Nissan Maxima or Altima with heavily tinted windows and a small spoiler on the trunk.
“Lately, I’ve noticed that everyone’s talking about crime. There’s an awareness of it and there’s a fear as well. It definitely has felt like it’s getting worse lately and you can just tell that by how people are, you know, how scared people are right now,” Madison Sullivan, a neighbor, told WVUE.
New Orleans police have not identified any suspects or made any arrests, and investigators have not said whether the victim was specifically targeted.
