Alabama man accused of sexually abusing young child, posting it on social media
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – An Alabama man is accused of sexually abusing a child, recording it and then posting the video on social media, authorities said.
Jadarian Javon Williams, 24, of Harvest, was charged with sexual abuse of a child under the age of 12, WAFF reported.
Williams was arrested after Huntsville police received several tips from people who saw the post online, AL.com reported.
Williams was originally served a warrant on March 15, the Montgomery Advertiser reported, citing court records filed March 16. The exact date of the alleged abuse is unclear, but an arrest affidavit said the act occurred between Jan. 1 and March 9, the newspaper reported.
According to court records, the victim was asleep at the time of the abuse.
The Huntsville Police special victims unit investigators are based at the National Children’s Advocacy Center, where they received assistance from Homeland Security on the case, WAAY reported. Investigators traveled to central Alabama during the investigation to collect evidence, the television station reported.
According to an arrest affidavit, Williams is out on bond.
No further information is being released about the post to protect the victim’s identity, according to WAFF.
