You Can Hear Dolly Parton’s New Song In 2045!

Dolly Parton has a new song that’s in a time capsule buried in Dollywood and won’t be heard for 24 years!

She revealed in her new book, “Songteller: My Life in Lyrics”, that she put the new song in a wooden box and buried it at DreamMore, the Dollywood resort that opened in 2015. According to NME, she instructed the staff to not open the time capsule until the 30th anniversary of DreamMore’s grand opening which will be the year 2045.

The idea came from her marketing dept. and she wrote “It would be a song that will never be heard until 30 years from the time we opened the resort,”…“They said, ‘You’ll be long dead [by the time it’s opened].’ I said, ‘Well, maybe not. I’ll be 99. I’ve seen people live to be older than that.’ It’s kind of weird or strange that they would ask me to write this mystery song. I don’t know if I want to live to be 100 or not. But you never know. I might, and if I do, I’m going to be at that opening.”

She said it’s been difficult not sharing the mystery song. “It’s just burning me up inside that I have to leave it in there,” she adds, “It’s like burying one of my kids, putting it on ice or something, and I won’t be around to see it brought back to life.”
