MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – A South Carolina mother is thankful that her 10-month-old daughter is alive after a bullet struck the window of the family’s car, narrowly missing the baby girl.

According to WMBF and WPDE, the incident occurred Sunday as Ashley Waller and her family were vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Their vehicle was stopped when gunfire erupted on Ocean Boulevard, Waller told the news outlets.

A bullet then pierced one of the car’s back windows, just inches away from where Waller’s daughter, Kallie, was sleeping in her car seat. Although nobody in Waller’s family was injured, several others were hurt in the shootout, police said.

Waller took to Facebook to share a photo of Kallie sleeping next to the shattered window.

“I can’t tell y’all how good my God is,” Waller captioned the post, which has been shared more than 2,000 times. “Not even 2 more inches and my baby would have been shot. Please pray for us right now and my nerves. I’m sick to my stomach knowing something could have happened to my sweet baby.”
