According to KATU and KPTV, Isaiah Hill, 19, of Portland, is facing second-degree murder, first-degree assault and criminal mistreatment charges after 8-month-old Milo Raney-Hill died in October, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office said.

The news came weeks after emergency crews responded Oct. 10 to Hill’s home, where the baby was suffering from breathing issues and seizures, authorities said. The infant was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors discovered evidence of spinal damage and brain injury, according to the news outlets. The child later died, officials said.

Hill eventually told investigators that he had squeezed, shaken and dropped the baby, who began to have a seizure, court documents said. He didn’t call the baby’s mother for at least 20 minutes; after he did, she called 911, the news outlets reported.
