FREMONT, Mich – A Michigan family of four, missing for a week, was found safe in Wisconsin, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
According to an update by the Fremont Police Department, officers made contact with the Cirigliano family. Anthony, Suzette, Noah and Brandon Cirigliano, were found at about 11 a.m. EDT in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, WOOD-TV reported.
Police said that all four family members were interviewed, according to the television station. Detectives said the family is “still of the opinion that people are after them, but the elements of the investigation do not meet the criteria for protective custody.”
Anthony Cirigliano, 51, placed a 911 call on the day the family was last seen. On the call, a copy of which was obtained by WZZM-TV, Cirigliano told a dispatcher that he needed immediate police protection because he had information regarding the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
“It is related to Sept. 11 and people want to erase me from the face of the Earth,” he told a dispatcher, according to WOOD. “I am not crazy.”

The family had left their home in Fremont on Sept. 16 and turned off their cellphones, WXYZ-TV reported.
Security camera footage spotted the family at an Upper Peninsula gas station the next day, according to the television station.
The family had left behind Suzette Cirigliano’s mother, who has dementia and requires full-time care, WOOD reported. She was found walking around the neighborhood around 9 p.m. EDT on Monday and is currently being cared for by other family members, according to the television station.
The two children in the family — Brandon, 19, and Noah, 15 — both have autism, the Michigan State Police said in a news release.
The Fremont Police Department said the investigation is now closed.
“We wish to thank all of those individuals who assisted in the investigation by calling in tips and sharing the information to help locate this family,” the police department said in a news release.
